AS CLIMATES TURNS HOSTILE, HOMES ARE NO LONGER SAFE

Help us protect families in Morocco, Mongolia, Tajikistan, and Benin.

Today, we are reaching out to you—our allies, supporters, partners, and donors—so that we can continue to protect families in Morocco, Mongolia, Tajikistan, and Benin. Today, we hope to continue working closely with local residents to combat energy poverty, improve families’ quality of life, and enable them to finally live in safe, healthy, and comfortable homes.

Today, and since the launch of the FRESH project in 2024, our teams have been developing energy-efficient renovation solutions accessible to vulnerable families, to improve their health, safety, comfort, and future.

In many of the countries where we work, housing no longer protects, it endangers.

Caught between the consequences of climate change and rapid urbanization, millions of families around the world are suffering, trapped in their inadequate homes. Poorly designed and poorly insulated, these homes turn into thermal boilers where the temperature keeps rising, or into thermal sieves where the cold seeps in day and night.

Faced with this energy, health, and safety crisis, it is imperative to act quickly and effectively to adapt buildings and strengthen families’ resilience and comfort. This change cannot happen without the involvement and participation of all local stakeholders—whether residents, institutions, or professionals.

The current global context marks a concerning turning point for international solidarity. Donating helps protect the independence of our work.

Between growing national inward turns and shifting diplomatic priorities, traditional cooperation systems are being severely tested, putting field operations at risk where needs are most urgent. In this climate of uncertainty, energy, ecological, and social transition projects can no longer depend solely on political agendas

This is where generosity becomes decisive.

Supporting a project like FRESH through a donation ensures the agility and autonomy essential to development and climate action. Beyond technical funding—such as home insulation and the deployment of clean technologies—donations help sustain the expertise of our international and local teams, as well as our capacity for innovation in the face of urgency.

To donate is to choose to protect the independence of our mission and to affirm that climate justice is a universal commitment that must remain beyond political fluctuations. By supporting Geres, you give our organization the strength to continue its work for a fair and inclusive energy transition.
